Meet Ernie, a boy who is just the right mix of playful and chill. Ernie loves to explore and sniff on walks, enjoys a good car ride with his nose out the window, and proudly serves as captain of the neighborhood watch — keeping an eye on things from the front door with serious dedication (and only occasional commentary).

He’s polite, affectionate, takes treats gently, respects his toys, and knows “sit” and even a little recall. He sleeps like a rock (snoring included), and greets every day and every person with his trademark helicopter tail and a big smile.

If you’re looking for a dog who’s easy, loving, and endlessly endearing, Ernie’s your guy. A total gentleman with a soft spot for belly rubs and stuffies, he’s proof that the "perfect" dog really does exist.

All adoptable pets are spayed/neutered (or scheduled), vaccinated, microchipped, and ready to go home today! No pre-application or appointment needed—just bring a valid ID and walk in. Our adoption fees are among the lowest in Cincinnati!

To meet our animals, visit our Northside shelters any day from 1–6pm. If listed as foster, email [email protected] to schedule a meet and greet. Adopting an adult dog with resident dogs or kids at home? Bring them along to ensure it’s a perfect match.
