Duties and responsibilities

  • Development of the HR Department
  • Interpret and apply company policies, benefits, practices, procedures, programs, and applicable laws.
  • Lead the talent recruitment process; Utilize technology such as posting sites for recruiting and the company HRIS system for company record keeping and employee
    management, design and implement the talent engagement process and create uniformity that is accessible for all departments.
  • Analyze training needs for employee development, including safety programs.
  • Advise on and build programming around staff development strategy and succession planning.
  • Advise, coach and counsel management in appropriate resolution of employee relations issues.
  • Co- facilitate new employee onboarding and orientation and ensure that the CAC people experience aims for excellence on the employees first day.
  • Labor relations lead: Conduct employee internal investigations and stay/exit interviews as needed.
  • Support the completion of worker’s compensation claims, maintain OSHA log and unemployment claims.
  • Serve as the direct supervisor to the People Operations Generalist.
  • Payroll processing and time clock management support.
  • Support and participate in community events and fundraisers supporting the shelter.
  • Be proficient and train to become an advanced user of our HRIS
  • Perform other related HR administration duties as required.

Requirements

  • Ability to comprehend, interpret and apply the appropriate sections of applicable laws, guidelines, regulations, ordinances and policies.
  • Ability to acquire a thorough understanding of the organization’s hierarchy, jobs, qualifications, compensation practices and the administrative practices related to those factors.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient with GoogleSuite or related software.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field and a minimum of 5 years’ related experience.
  • SHRM Professional (SHRM-SCP), (SHRM-CP) or PHR/SPHR certification/credential preferred.
  • Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, including compensation practices, organizational diagnosis, employee relations, diversity, performance management, training and development and federal and state respective employment laws.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
