Moving to the Tri-State from Hermiston, Oregon as a teenager, Lieutenant Allen knows his community. Living in Hamilton, Fairfield, Florence, and now residing in Green Township, he’s seen firsthand what our community needs from its animal shelter. Lt. Allen takes pride in making sure the animals of Hamilton County are safe and helping their owners provide loving homes; and that loving homes come in all shapes and sizes, “not everyone grew up in the same house on the same street with the same people and because of that each one of us has experiences that make us all unique,” Allen says.
Prior to a career in animal welfare, Lt. Allen was (and still is) a certified HVAC technician and certified as a heavy duty diesel mechanic, but after a stint at Grady Veterinary Hospital in Finneytown and becoming a Dog Warden, he knew this is where he belonged and what he was meant for. “I can’t see myself doing anything else and being happy.”
