Community Rehoming Program for Owned Pets

Home to Home is a service that keeps animals out of shelters through direct home placement! Consider adopting an animal that is being re-homed.

What is privately rehoming?

In addition to the animals in our shelter, there are also cats and dogs featured on our Rehoming page. These pets are being rehomed directly by their current owners, allowing them to transition to a new home without ever entering the shelter.

Choosing to adopt through private rehoming helps keep pets in the community and reduces the number of animals coming into Hamilton County’s shelter system. It’s a great way to support neighbors while giving a pet a fresh start.

Rehome a Pet

Complete a rehoming form to get your pet listed online.

Please note: Privately rehoming is NOT a service managed by the shelter. All animals are listed by their current owners, and adoptions are privately discussed between the interested party and the current pet owner. Information disclosed in our rehoming form will be listed as input on our website.
