It’s game time, Cincinnati! Join us for Hometown Heroes Weekend and help homeless pets score their forever homes. We’re celebrating the Bengals’ season opener by inviting YOU to suit up, take the field, and be the heroes these animals are waiting for.

Event Highlights

✨ $0 Adoption Fees — All dogs and cats 6 months and older (dog license fee of $19.75 still applies).
✨ Tailgate Party — Saturday, Sept. 13 at our Colerain shelter with food, football-themed yard games, prizes, and adoptable dogs ready to cheer you on!
✨ Be a Hero — Adoption, fostering, or simply spreading the word… every play matters in this lifesaving game.

Why Now?

Every September, adoptions slow down as routines shift back to school—even though intakes remain high. Cincinnati Animal CARE is at capacity caring for hundreds of animals across our Colerain and Dane Avenue shelters, plus foster homes. This is the time of year when your support matters most. By adopting or fostering, you’re making the winning play for pets who need you today.
