Affordable Veterinary Care for Hamilton County Pets made Accessible through our Community CARE Program

Our Community CARE Program

At Cincinnati Animal CARE, we believe that access to veterinary care should never be the reason a beloved pet loses their home. Our Community CARE program was created to provide support for pet owners facing barriers to veterinary care while helping keep pets healthy, safe, and with the families who love them.

Through the Community CARE program, eligible Hamilton County residents can apply for an appointment with our veterinary team for pets experiencing illness or injury. By providing access to veterinary services and resources, we hope to address medical concerns before they become emergencies and help keep pets safely in their homes whenever possible.

Interested in being considered for an appointment? Complete the JotForm application below. All appointment requests must be submitted through the JotForm.

What is the Community CARE Program?

Our Community CARE program offers scheduled veterinary appointments with our veterinarian, Dr. Meyer, for eligible pets needing medical attention.

During each clinic day, up to 12 appointment slots are available. Appointments are scheduled in 30-minute increments and are designed to assess your pet's condition, provide treatment recommendations, and connect families with available resources whenever possible.

Please note that appointment availability is limited, and submission of an application does not guarantee an appointment.

Who is the Community CARE Program for?

The Community Veterinary Clinic is available to Hamilton County residents whose pets are experiencing medical concerns and may need support accessing veterinary care. This program is designed to serve those with the greatest need, particularly in situations where care has already been sought elsewhere and remains financially out of reach. Appointments are intended for community-owned pets that are injured or ill and would benefit from evaluation by a veterinarian.

When are appointments?

Clinic appointments are offered on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of every month from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Where do I go for my appointment?

Appointments take place at Cincinnati Animal CARE's 3949 Colerain Avenue location on the left side of the building in our clinic wing. Approved applicants will receive appointment details, including location information and arrival instructions, when their appointment is confirmed.

How do I apply?

To be considered for an appointment:

  1. Complete the Medical Care Request JotForm application.
  2. Our team will review all submitted applications.
  3. Eligible applicants will be contacted directly if an appointment is available.
  4. If selected, you will receive scheduling information and next steps.

Important!

The JotForm application is the only method for requesting an appointment. Phone calls, emails, social media messages, and walk-in requests will not be accepted or considered for scheduling. Because appointment availability is limited, not all applicants can be accommodated. Completing an application does not guarantee an appointment.

Keeping Pets and People Together

Every day, families face difficult decisions when a pet becomes sick or injured and veterinary care feels out of reach. Our Community CARE vet appointments are one more way Cincinnati Animal CARE can support pet owners before a crisis leads to surrender, abandonment, or unnecessary suffering.

By expanding access to veterinary care, we can help more pets remain healthy, more families stay together, and more animals avoid entering an already crowded shelter system. We are proud to invest in proactive, community-based solutions that strengthen the human-animal bond and create a more compassionate Hamilton County for pets and the people who love them.

Made Possible Through Community Support

The Community CARE Veterinary Clinic is made possible through the generous support of the Kenneth A. Scott Charitable Trust, a KeyBank Trustee. Funding from this grant helps Cincinnati Animal CARE expand access to veterinary services for pets in our community, ensuring more families can receive assistance when their animals are injured or ill.

By investing in accessible care, this support helps reduce barriers to veterinary treatment, keeps pets with the people who love them, and strengthens the safety net available to Hamilton County pet owners. We are grateful for this partnership and its impact on the health and well-being of pets and families throughout our community.
