Re-live American History— Feline-style!
Cincinnati Animal CARE welcomes author and photographer, Dr. Paul Koudounaris, to The Purrfect Day Cafe, where guests are invited to re-live American history, feline style, and join the author of A Cat’s Tale (a Barnes and Noble book of the year) as he reveals how our country’s indomitable cats triumphed alongside its humans over a harsh landscape in a New World.
Arriving on the same ships which brought our nation’s forefathers, America’s cats didn’t just live through history, they helped to create it. Learn about cats in the Wild West and cats on the old railroads! Hear the life and death saga of Kiddo, America’s first feline aerialist! Cheer for the amazing Clementine Jones as she walked alone from New York to Colorado to find her family! Wonder in awe about Pico, a true patriot, the United States Navy’s own singing feline mascot… did he really sing God Bless America with his crewmates? …he dang well tried at the least! These and more, as we celebrate the greatness of the American cat!
This event is a meet and greet fundraiser for Kitten Season with Cincinnati Animal CARE! Each $20 ticket includes your exclusive seat for the presentation and meet and greet, with your choice of our 6pm or 7pm presentation, plus a Kitty Cocktail, a non-alcoholic tea beverage! (Full bar and coffee bar available) This event does NOT include entry to the Cat Room, but guests are welcome to book time in that space if they’d like to interact with cats and kittens! The cafe is open until 9pm. Books available to purchase at Barnesandnoble.com. Books will NOT be available for purchase at the event, but if you have a book, Dr Koudanaris will sign it!
