Cincinnati Animal CARE’s Black Friday Adoption Event Announced
Thursday, November 21, 2024 (Cincinnati, Ohio) – Cincinnati Animal CARE, Hamilton County’s only open-intake animal shelter and the sole provider of animal control services for the county, announces their Annual Black Friday Adoption Event, with $.99 adoptions on all animals over six months of age, extended hours at the Colerain location til 9 pm, brand new elements to keep potential adopters engaged while in line, and the first FREE FOOD FOR A YEAR drawing, for anyone who adopts an animal between 3-6 pm on Black Friday, at either shelter location!
Cincy CARE’s Black Friday event is the organization’s largest onsite adoption event annually. This year’s event at both CARE facilities aims to find forever homes for 100 animals, to break the adoption record for 2021, with 89 total adoptions. Cincy CARE currently has more than 600 total animals in care, and helping to move the shelter population into loving, adoptive homes for the holidays is of the utmost importance to the organization.
“Our annual Black Friday event promises to be bigger and better than ever,” said Meaghan Colville, Cincy CARE’s Shelter Director. “We hope to see more animals go home this year than ever before, and we look forward to all the excitement and energy this event brings to the shelter.”
Black Friday Adoption Event Details
Cincy CARE on Colerain Avenue will be open from 1-9 pm for the event, while the Dane Avenue location will be open from 1-6 pm. When potential adopters arrive at either Cincy CARE facility, they will meet with “matchmakers” who will listen to a potential adopter’s preferences for an adoptable animal, ask questions about home environments and existing pets, and matchmake customers with a short list of animals that aim to be a good fit for their home. Guests interested in adopting dogs are then guided to the play yards at Cincy CARE, where the customer can meet the dogs and interact with them in an environment outside of a kennel. Following the meet and greet in a play yard, guests will decide to adopt the animal or pass on that dog to meet with another dog on the matchmaker’s list. Following a decision to adopt, customers will then move to the checkout counter to finalize their adoption. If a potential adopter has another dog(s) at home, they are encouraged to bring their dog(s) with them for a supervised dog-to-dog meet, though it is not required for adoption.
New this year, the Black Friday event includes a volunteer bake sale with snacks for humans and pets and a merchandise booth with Cincy CARE-branded apparel and accessories. Travelin’ Tom’s Coffee Truck will also be on-site with hot beverages available for purchase, and the very first FREE FOOD FOR A YEAR drawing will take place with entries from those who adopt their pet on Black Friday at either facility between 3-6 pm.
