As we approach the end of the year, many of us are reflecting on the good we’ve done and thinking about how we can give back to those in need. Cincinnati Animal CARE is always in need of support—whether it’s through donations, volunteering, or simply spreading the word. If you’ve been wondering how you can make a difference at your local animal shelter this holiday season, here are some meaningful ways to contribute!
End Of Year Campaign: Your Gift Saves Lives
Cincinnati Animal CARE does not shy away from a challenge. Every animal that walks through our doors is given a fighting chance, which is what our lifesaving mission is about. Whatever the condition, our medical team faces every illness or injury with the same passion to see that animal survive.
Beyond providing individualized, lifesaving medical care, we offer community support services, pet food assistance, and resources for families in crisis to promote keeping pets and people together. But we can’t do this work without you. Our dedicated team cares for hundreds of animals every day, and your generous donations are what allow us to continue our vital work. Wishlists: Donate The Items Our Animals Need
In 2024 alone, over 8,500 animals found their way into our care, and keeping them healthy and happy requires a lot of supplies! We go through 364,000 cups of food annually and, beyond the basics, we have an enrichment program that ensures our animals stay mentally stimulated while they await their forever homes.
From food and blankets to toys and treats, your contributions directly benefit the animals who rely on our shelter. We’ve made it easy to help by creating an online wishlist of supplies needed across various programs. Check out the list and consider donating the items that will make a difference.
Giving Tree: A Creative Way to Contribute
This holiday season, we’ve partnered with local businesses to set up Giving Trees where supporters can donate much-needed items for our shelter. You can join in by hosting your own Giving Tree! It’s a wonderful way to engage with your community and collect donations for our furry friends. If you’d like more information on how to set up a Giving Tree at your business or event, reach out to us by emailing events@cincycare.org. Together, we can provide the supplies that will help keep our animals safe and happy.
Paws for a Cause
We’re always striving to provide the best possible care for all animals, including those most vulnerable. Our Paws for a Cause initiative focuses on raising funds for new neonatal care equipment, including incubators and nebulizers, which are crucial for the survival of newborn kittens and puppies.
By donating just $1, $5, or $10 at any of our shelter locations, you can help us raise money for this important cause. Plus, you’ll get a chance to show your support by signing a paw print that we’ll display in our lobby through the end of the year.
Canine Coat Drive: Keeping Pets Warm
As temperatures drop, it’s important to remember the people and pets who may be struggling with housing instability. That’s why we’re hosting a Canine Coat Drive to collect new or gently used dog sweaters, coats, boots, and blankets. These items will be distributed to pet owners in need, helping keep their furry companions warm this winter.
