Join Cincinnati Animal CARE for the FIRST EVER Northside Pittie Tour on Sunday, May 17 at 3:00 PM!

This one-of-a-kind neighborhood walking tour, the Pittie Tour celebrates pitties, pittie-type dogs, and the community that loves them. Starting at Cincinnati Animal CARE’s Dane Avenue location, participants will check in, grab a tour map, and set out to explore Northside on foot—stopping along the way at curated homes and neighborhood spots featuring friendly, leashed dogs and their owners.
From front porches and yards to sidewalks and parks, you’ll experience Northside in a whole new way while meeting incredible dogs who are ready to show off just how loving and social pitties can be. All participating dogs will be leashed, supervised by their owners, and all interactions will take place outdoors.
The Pittie Tour will conclude at Northside Yacht Club, where participants can gather, share stories, and enjoy food, drinks, and community.
The Pittie Tour builds on the success of Cincinnati Animal CARE’s previous neighborhood walking events and continues a mission of creating positive, real-world interactions that help challenge misconceptions about pitties while celebrating the dogs already loved in our community.
Free to attend, family-friendly, and open to all dog lovers!

Why This Event Matters

This event was created to celebrate a group of dogs that are too often misunderstood. Pitties and pittie–type dogs consistently make up a significant portion of shelter populations nationwide, including at Cincinnati Animal CARE. Despite their reputation, these dogs are known for their affectionate, people-oriented nature and thrive when given structure, stability, and a loving home.

At Cincinnati Animal CARE, every animal is treated as an individual, not defined by breed or stereotype. Through events like The Pittie Tour, the organization aims to create positive, real-life interactions that challenge misconceptions and highlight what these dogs are truly like: loyal companions who simply need the right environment to succeed. As part of that commitment to responsible pet ownership and community wellbeing, all participating dogs in this event are required to be spayed or neutered.

Supporting a Lifesaving Mission

While the event is free to attend, merchandise purchases and community participation help support Cincinnati Animal CARE’s mission to provide lifesaving care to thousands of animals each year.

Participants can register for the free walking tour at cincycare.org or through Cincinnati Animal CARE’s Facebook page. Event merchandise will also be available for purchase, with proceeds directly supporting the animals in care. Northside residents interested in participating as a tour stop are encouraged to register their home and dog in advance.
